SlalomSense

We are opening soon.

Our mission is simple, to create a device to help young alpine ski racers improve their skiing in an easier, faster, and more efficient manner. Alpine coaches try to explain how to make an adjustment to an athlete's skiing technique but often times, the athlete will not understand what the coach is trying to explain or another coach may seem to contradict what the first coach was trying to convey. Then once you factor in a caring parent attempting to tell their athlete what they think he or she should fix in their skiing, it becomes even more confusing. So during the fall of 2014, we had an idea. What if we could come up with a device that would show an athlete or coach how every turn was made? This would be able to easily highlight flaws and strengths in an athlete’s skiing such as, pressure applied to a ski boot and turn shape. By recording this data, it will make ski racing easier for coaches, athletes, and even parents to understand what needs to be fixed. So we went to work…
